A SPINAL CORD INJURY CHANGES YOUR LIFE IN A SECOND
I was paralyzed in a boating accident. Fortunately, I was able to rise from the wheelchair. Following my hospitalization, I needed a special bed, which was put in my dining room. The cost of the bed was not covered by medical insurance and came out of my pocket. I am trying to help those who do not have the necessary funds to purchase goods for their basic medical needs. These goods include mattresses, toilet modifications, hand rails and the like.
I am asking you to support me today with a charitable donation. My quest is to be the first man to swim across the English Channel backstroke. I choose backstroke as a show of solidarity for the spinal cord injured community.
A spinal cord injury is an unexpected, life-changing event for the individual injured, their family and their friends. The newly injured and their families must learn to accept and cope with a dramatic change and adjust to their post-injury life. The Greater Boston Chapter’s “RISE Above Paralysis” organization works to Reach, Inspire, Support and Empower those affected by this injury. http://sciboston.com/about-us/who-we-are/
